The Put Foot Rally is a chance to experience over 9000kms of beauty as you traverse across Southern Africa, meeting the coolest people, seeing a variety of wildlife and making memories that will last you a lifetime. And, it’s all for a good cause…
Put Footers for Charity
As part of the rally party, you will be an official ‘put footer’ – both on the open road and through hands-on charity work. The Put Foot Rally supports the Put Foot Foundation – an organisation with a beautiful misson; “gifting young under-privileged children ‘Hope, Pride and Dignity’ through a pair of brand new, South African-made, quality, school shoes!”.
What You’ll Need
A serious spirit of endurance and adventure, a great sense of humour, friendliness and a whole lot of supplies – including, of course, a vehicle. Since this is a charity orientated experience, you will also need to raise a minimum of $50 for the Put Foot Foundation and a spirit of service for various ‘shoe drops’ that you will be doing at schools throughout the rally.
You’ll be visiting 6 different countries and this year’s line-up includes South Africa, Namibia, Malawi, Mozambique, Botswana and Zambia (not in that order, so prepare for some map-reading and navigational skill upgrading). Each country has beautiful attractions that you’ll get to experience, so make sure that you plan properly to enjoy them at the fullest capacity.
No Vehicle? No Problem
Given the distances and terrain you’ll be covering, having a reliable vehicle that can safely carry you through this amazing journey is certainly a requirement. According to past travellers, the most comfortable rides are SUVs and 4x4s.
If you’re super brave, your Mini Cooper may just carry you across all 6 countries – or, you may end up stranded in Malawi. Don’t get us wrong, we love Minis, but for a more reliable option, check out 4X4 Rentals South Africa who are currently running specials on 4×4 and SUV Hire for the Put Foot Rally.
